“I’m going down to 145″
For the first time since 2010, Diego Sanchez will be fighting outside of the lightweight division. Sanchez has fought for the middleweight and welterweight classes in the past, but this time he will be moving down to featherweight!
Sanchez has accomplished a milestone at each weight class he fought in. As a lightweight, Sanchez was able to earn a Fight of the Year award along with Clay Guida in 2009. Prior to that, he captured welterweight gold when he fought for King of the Cage.
Sanchez then went on to make his octagon debut through the “Ultimate Fighter: Season 1 middleweight tournament— a tournament which he won.
While Sanchez was never able to grab the ever-elusive UFC Lightweight Championship, he is sure to entertain fans in the featherweight division.
