Freddie Roach on Cotto: Manuel Marquez – Would be perfect

Legendary trainer Freddie Roach is back at it again and this time he has 4 time division champion Miguel Cotto looking for a fight and Roach thinks he found his fighter.

Manuel Marquez appears to be fit for the plan that Roach has in store.  Marquez (56-7-1, 40 KO) hasn’t seen action since his unanimous decision victory over Mike Alverado back in 2014.

Cotto was on the wrong end of a 12 rd decision loss back in November of last year that broke his three fight win streak. Cotto (40-5, 33 KO) would be an interesting match-up and possibly one that could mark the end of Marquez’s career if the WBO champ decides it’s time.

Sources confirmed that Nacho Beristain states that Marquez could be up for the bout.
