Freddie Roach on Rousey’s boxing: ‘It was embarrassing’

Saturday night at UFC 193 Holly Holm put on a striking clinic, laying out the blueprint for how to negate Ronda Rousey’s elite level Judo and keep Rousey off her game with flawless striking and footwork.

Famed boxing coach Freddie Roach spoke to Fight Hub TV to discuss Holm’s win over Rousey, as well as what Rousey needs to work on before she returns to the Octagon.

All she has is a ground game right now. She really needs to learn how to fight standing up and go against a lefty, a southpaw. And she had no idea or no strategy of how to deal with that…It was embarrassing a little bit. No one ever taught her anything about boxing it looked like.

Rousey stated prior to the bout that she would be taking some time away from fighting until UFC 200, and has stated after the bout that she will indeed be back.
