Grace Torino Introduced as Managing Director of UFC Brazil
Brazil has played host to seven UFC events in 2013, and Dana White plans to increase that number next year. As the company continues to increase the number of events they hold within a calendar year, the company itself must expand globally. New hires are to be made.
During the post-fight press conference on Saturday night, Dana White announced that he had hired Grace Torino as the new Managing Director of UFC Brazil. After listing off the names of big companies Torino has worked for in the past (Tickets For Fun, Price Waterhouse), White proudly stated that “she’s a stud”.
Grace Torino was brought on stage and gave the following speech:
“Good evening and thank you very much, Dana. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. We are really very pleased to have another UFC event here in Brazil and fans in Goiânia were fantastic. Brazil is the nursery of big idols in our sport and it’s a very important market for us in the UFC. Since 2011, we’ve already held 11 events [here] and 7 of them only in 2013. Our purpose is to take the UFC closer to our fans, and I’d like to thank you all very much for being here today.”
As the Managing Director, Torino will be responsible for the daily operations of the UFC in her sector, which in this case is Brazil.
