Green Out, Varner Steps In To Face Trujillo At UFC 169
The UFC 169 main card has received an adjustment following news that rising lightweight fighter, Bobby Green was forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout with Abel Trujillo.
In for Green comes former WEC champ, Jamie Varner.
UFC officials did not cite the cause for Green’s exodus, the promotion only announced his removal and replacement.
UFC 169 goes down from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. on February 1st. The pay-per-view event features a double-header of title fights when Dominick Cruz returns to unify his belt in a fight opposite Renan Barao. In the evening’s co-main event Jose Aldo faces Ricardo Lamas for the UFC’s featherweight title.
With the recent shift the UFC 169 lineup looks as follows:
