Hendo Feels Pressure To Win But Won’t Retire With Loss To Belfort

MMA and UFC legends Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort will square off for the second time this Saturday. However this time it will be under the UFC banner, the last time these two warriors met was back in 2006 at Pride 32 where Dan Henderson won via unanimous decision.

News surfaced this week that this is the last fight on Dan Henderson’s UFC contract, this left fans to wonder what the former two division Pride champion would do if he lost this weekend. At 43 years old and going just 1-2 in his last three fights, we have to ask ourselves is it time for ‘Hendo’ to hang them up.

Hendo talked on The MMA Hour about his contract situation, and what a loss would mean to his career.

“Yeah, I’m not planning on retiring and I’m not planning on going anywhere. Coming off of two losses in my last two fights, that doesn’t help for negotiating. So there’s a little more pressure on this fight, but I’m pretty sure this fight will be exciting regardless.”

Henderson also touched on the controversial topic of TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) saying:

“I don’t take that much (TRT), and I didn’t take it for the Canada fight my last fight, and I really didn’t notice a change. It wouldn’t matter that much to me whether I was on it or not, especially just for one fight. It’s a matter of being healthier, just as a lifestyle for me, and what the doctors prescribe to be healthier as a person. So it’s not anything that a few months is going to matter.”

UFC Fight Night 32: Belfort vs. Henderson takes place this Saturday in Brazil.
