Hendricks On Not Getting Title Shot: ‘It’s Not Just The UFC, It’s The Fans’ Fault Too’
Former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks was expected to be getting the next shot at current champ Robbie Lawler, which would have been a trilogy fight. unfortunately it didn’t go that way and the UFC decided to go with Carlos Condit instead.
Now, Hendricks is set to fight Tyron Woodley at UFC 192, but he’s still being asked about being jumped over.
While talking to MMAJunkie, Hendricks said that it’s not even the UFC’s fault as much as it might be the fans who caused the decision.
Here’s what he said:
“It is what it is. As long as my body’s healthy, I’m going to fight.
“It’s not even so much the UFC’s fault. It’s also the fans; whenever they do a polling of the fans, they might want something different.”
Hendricks and Woodley will face off at UFC 193, taking place Oct. 3 at Toyota Center in Houston, TX. Champ Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit will fight at UFC 195.
