Henry Cejudo Wants On UFC 188 Card In Mexico City
UFC flyweight and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo beat his opponent, Chris Cariaso, decisively in their three round bout. Cejudo managed to make the 125 weight limit, despite having issued with it in the past and used his wrestling to subdue Cariaso’s standup. Cejudo won the fight via unanimous decision.
Following the event at the post-fight press conference, Cejudo expressed a desire to get on the UFC’s next trip to Mexico. UFC 188 is set to take place June 13 in Mexico City.
“Absolutely. I come from Mexican descent. We’re known to fight smart, or at least to showcase some type of standup like I did my last fight. I felt a little tight in my arms and my chest. It was from the weighcut. I mean, it wasn’t bad. I was a pound under Friday night, so whoever bet against me, you get this one. I’ll be back. I’m only going to get better. I would love to fight in Mexico City. I’m fluent in Spanish. My parents are from Mexico City.”
UFC president Dana White seemed to like the idea and said, “He’s going to Mexico for sure.”
