Herrig on criticism: ‘I’m just going to keep being who I am’
Felice Herrig has often caught criticism from fans, and fellow fighters. Herring keeps a positive attitude about the criticism, and insists she will simply continue to be who she is.
She spoke at the post-fight press conference to discuss her persona, and why she isn’t going to change for anyone.
“I’ve always been who I am, I’ve always stayed true to myself. I think I realized- I get a lot of hate along the way, but I also get a lot of love, and I realize that I’m going to keep being who I am. If people like it then great, if they don’t then sorry, but I’m just going to keep being who I am.”
“I think, I’m not saying ‘you can all learn a lot from me,’ I think that – I’m not afraid to put myself out there, and with that comes a lot of hate, but again, like I said, I think you should never shy away from who you really are and putting yourself all out there and putting yourself on the line, and it’s more respectable to not go out there and fake who you are.”
