Holly Holm sponsored by company linked to banned substances
Intel Pharma caused quite an uproar today what they congratulated Holly Holm, one of the athletes they sponsor, on winning the UFC women’s bantamweight championship.
Several of the products produced by Intel Pharma are on the World Anti-Doping Agency banned substance list.
While Holm’s sponsorship from the company isn’t exactly good news, her manager Lenny Fresquez assured MMAJunkie that just because Holm endorses the products doesn’t mean she uses them.
“The first question I asked them was how many of these products were banned, and they were up front about it,’’ Fresquez said. “Holly didn’t really use them so it’s not a big deal …
“I’m sure she didn’t use any of them. She might have taken a picture with one.”
It is important to mention that Ronda Rousey was sponsored by Gaspari Nutrition for quite some time, and some of their products are also considered steroid alternatives.
Rousey has been tested 9 times since the UFC began their aggressive random drug testing campaign, and has passed all of the tests in which results have been released.
In addition, Holm has been tested 5 times since July 1st, and has passed all of those tests in which results have been released.
