John McCarthy Defends Matt Brown’s Controversial Nut Shot
Veteran MMA referee Big John McCarthy justified his reasons for momentarily stopping the fight at what could have been a pivotal moment for Robbie Lawler. For those who missed it, Robbie Lawler threw a liver kick at Matt Brown, the kick landed clean, however Brown grabbed at his cup to signal the kick landed low, and John McCarthy stopped the fight for a moment to let Brown recover from the low blow. The kick replayed during Brown’s timeout and it showed that the kick landed clean.
