Jon Jones: ‘I’m Going to Be Back’
After some much-needed time away from the gym and the sport of mixed martial arts as a whole, it looks like the former UFC champion is back in training. Jon Jones has apparently told training partners that he intends to return to the octagon, according to fellow training partner Carlos Condit.
Condit, who is a teammate of Jones, recently spoke with the The MMA Hour about Jones’ return to training after all of the drama. “Jon’s been around the gym a little bit, which is good. I like to see him down there. It’s a crazy situation that he’s going to have to deal with. I think having him in gym doing what he does best, training and trying to keep that side of his life going, is a good thing,” Condit said.
Condit then broke the news that Jones intends to return to the octagon, and commented on the former champ’s mindset while training. “[I] Talked to him briefly, but not about incident but about situation. He said, I’ll be back, I’m going to be back. I believe him, there’s no doubt. I think there’s a good chance. In his mind he’s fighting again.”
