Jon Jones Returns To Social: “I’ll show you how great I am…”
Jon “Bones” Jones path to redemption has the potential to be one of the greatest comeback stories in mixed martial arts and the former champion could be hinting that a return may happen sooner rather than later.
Earlier in April 2015, Jones was involved in some legal troubles after fleeing the scene on foot of a three-car accident that he allegedly caused. UFC President Dana White had no choice but to strip Jones of the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship and suspend him indefinitely so he could concentrate on his court appearances and figure out his personal problems.
Jones future was recently decided and it was revealed he would not be serving any jail time. Instead, the former champion will see eighteen months of probation and is free to train. The UFC has yet to officially reinstate “Bones”, but it is expected that Jones will return to action soon.
Jones utilized his Twitter for the first time since his April arrest with a message for his naysayers:
I'm gonna show you how great I am
— Jon Bones Jones (@JonnyBones) October 10, 2015
The definition of “greatness” changed drastically in the light heavyweight division since Jones’ absence. Daniel Cormier is at the top of the weight class and has gone to war with the likes of Anthony Johnson and Alexander Gustafsson to secure his spot as champion.
Do you doubt how great Jones is? Will ring rust play a factor in his return, or will he be as dominant as ever? Should he get a title match upon his return, or should he have to earn it? Speak your mind in the comment section below!
