Josh Barnett: ‘I Gave Up Chasing Championships A Long Time Ago’
Ex-UFC champ Josh Barnett is set to collide with Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Japan event.
Barnett is coming off of a loss to Travis Browne, all the way back in Dec. of 2013, where he was stopped with brutal elbows. Before that he was on a two fight win steak.
Ahead of the fight, Barnett told MMAJunkie that he isn’t exactly chasing the title anymore, just looking to win and see what happens after that.
Here’s what he said:
“I gave up on the idea of chasing championships a long time ago because that’s not up to you; what’s up to you is to go out and win. If you win, you get all the title opportunities you want. You don’t win, who gives a sh-t? I’m going to go out there, beat the crap out of Roy and see what comes next.”
