Juliana Lima vs. Ericka Almeida set for UFC Fight Night 67
A women’s strawweight bout featuring Juliana Lima (7-2 MMA) taking on Ericka Almeida (7-0 MMA) has been added to this month’s UFC Fight Night 67 event in Brazil.
UFC officials recently announced the news.
Lima was originally slated to face Jessica Penne at the event, however, Penne was moved off the card in order to fight for the UFC strawweight title at UFC Fight Night 69.
Juliana Lima was most recently seen in action at November’s UFC Fight Night event in Brazil, where she earned a unanimous decision win over Nina Ansaroff. Prior the victory, Lima was coming off a unanimous decision loss to current UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, which she suffered at the UFC on FOX 12 event in July of 2014.
Lima now meets promotional newcomer Ericka Almeida who has gone a perfect 7-0 in her young mixed martial arts career. All seven of Almeida’s career wins have come by form of stoppage, including six first-round victories. The 26-year-old Brazilian was most recently seen in action at April’s Jungle Fight 76 event, where she submitted Jennifer Gonzalez in the very first-round with a triangle-choke.
UFC Fight Night 67 takes place May 30 live from Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil. The event, which airs on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass, is headlined by a welterweight bout between Carlos Condit and Thiago Alves.
