Koscheck vs. Woodley Set For Growing UFC 167 Event
A third welterweight scrap has been added to the upcoming UFC 167 event in the form of Josh Koscheck and Tyron Woodley.
UFC officials announced the bout earlier today.
The pay-per-view event, which features a main event title fight between champion Georges St-Pierre and challenger Johny Hendricks goes down from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 16.
Koscheck last saw action when he welcomed Robbie Lawler back to the Octagon at UFC 157. It was his second straight defeat, the first of which came at the hands of Johny Hendricks, who bested the San Jose resident via split decision back in May of 2012. The AKA fighter was supposed to make a return to action earlier this month against Demian Maia at UFC 163 but was forced out of the contest with an injury.
Woodley will serve as Koschecks second straight opponent imported from the Strikeforce ranks. Tyron made his UFC debut in emphatic fashion with a first round KO over MMA veteran Jay Hieron. He followed up the impressive outing with a lackluster decision loss to Jake Shields.
The slowly growing UFC 168 card looks as follows:
Georges St-Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks
Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald
Josh Koscheck vs. Tyron Woodley
