Late Injuries Shake Up This Weekends UFC Japan Fights
A proposed bantamweight bout between Norifumi Yamamoto (18-6 MMA) and Matt Hobar (9-3 MMA) has been scratched from this weekend’s UFC Fight Night 75 event in Japan, this after both fighters suffered undisclosed injuries in training.
UFC.com reported the news earlier today.
As a result, the fight card, which takes place at Japan’s Saitama Super Arena, will proceed with 10 bouts.
The Norifumi Yamamoto vs. Matt Hobar fight was scheduled to air on the evenings main card and will now be replaced by a featherweight bout featuring Diego Brandao (19-10 MMA) taking on Katsunori Kikuno (23-7-2 MMA).
With the changes, the UFC Fight Night 75 lineup now looks as follows:
FOX Sports 1 Main Card (10 p.m. ET):
265 lbs.: Josh Barnett vs. Roy Nelson
185 lbs.: Gegard Mousasi vs. Uriah Hall
125 lbs.: Kyoji Horiguchi vs. Chico Camus
135 lbs.: Takeya Mizugaki vs. George Roop
145 lbs.: Diego Brandao vs. Katsunori Kikuno
145 lbs.: Mizuto Hirota vs. Teruto Ishihara
FOX Sports 2 Prelims (8 p.m. ET):
170 lbs.: Li Jingliang vs. Keita Nakamura
155 lbs.: Nick Hein vs. Yusuke Kasuya
155 lbs.: Kajan Johnson vs. Naoyuki Kotani
170 lbs.: Shinsho Anzai vs. Roger Zapata
