Liz Carmouche vs. Raquel Pennington set for UFC 191
A key women’s bantamweight bout between Liz Carmouche and Raquel Pennington is the latest addition to September’s UFC 191 event.
The bout was announced on Wednesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight” on FOX Sports 1.
Liz Carmouche (10-5 MMA) will return to action for the first time since April’s UFC Fight Night 63 event, where she scored a unanimous decision victory over Lauren Murphy. Prior to that, “Girl-Rilla” was coming off back-to-back decision losses to Miesha Tate and Alexis Davis respectively.
Meanwhile, Raquel Pennington (5-5 MMA) returns to action for the first time since suffering a unanimous decision loss to the highly-touted Holly Holm at February’s UFC 184 event in LA. Prior to the setback, “Rocky” was coming off a submission win over Ashlee Evans-Smith, which she earned at December’s UFC 181 pay-per-view event in Dallas.
UFC 191 takes place September 5 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event is headlined by a flyweight title fight rematch featuring champion Demetrious Johnson taking on challenger John Dodson.
