Lorenz Larkin didn’t know who Albert Tumenov was prior to call out

Lorenz Larkin may be fighting Albert Tumenov at UFC 195, but prior to Tumenov calling him out, Larkin had no clue who he was.

He spoke to MMAJunkie to discuss the situation:

“Truthfully, I didn’t even know about him and didn’t know who he was until he called me out,” Larkin said. “I don’t watch that much MMA, so it’s like the guys who aren’t really, really out there, I don’t know.”

“I always say, that’s what I’m trying to do – I’m trying to put on exciting fights,” Larkin said. “To me, these are the things that make fighting. I don’t want those boring-ass fights. I just want exciting fights against guys that are going to bring it and test me to the best of my ability. It’s a good fight.”

Larkin is riding a 2-fight win streak that has seen him pick up back to back TKO wins. The streak came after dropping to welterweight after a 3 fight skid.

Tumenov on the other hand is riding a 4-fight win streak that has seen him pick up impressive wins over Anthony Lapsley, Matt Dwyer, Nico Musoke, and most recently Alan Jouban.
