Magny: ‘I Want To Keep Getting Better’
Last night at “UFC Fight Night: Broomfield”, Neil Magny kicked off 2015 with another win to add to his win streak, making it 6 in a row, the longest win streak in the welterweight division.
All 6 of those wins however, have come over unranked opponents, and despite his incredible win-streak, Magny hasn’t cracked the UFC’s top 10 ladder in the welterweight division.
He spoke at the post-fight press conference about his win streak, his desire to stay active, and his plan for cracking the top 10.
“I’m healthy. I want to keep fighting. I want to get in there and keep making mistakes and getting better from those mistakes and just keep getting better as a fighter.”
When asked about his plans for cracking the top 10, Magny responded with:
“It’s something that’s going to happen as my career progresses, but I’ll just take it as it comes. It’s not my place to call people out. It’s my place to train and answer that phone call when it comes through. I’m pretty much just back in the gym, back working hard, and just wait for my opponent to see what happens next – whoever it is, whenever it is.”
“When my time comes to face the top-10, I’ll be ready for it. I want to stay active and stay in there and just keep getting better.”
