Mark Munoz Is Happy With Retirement, Has ‘No Itch To Come Back’
Were you wondering if retired UFC middleweight Mark Munoz was thinking about a come back? Well according to the fighter, the answer is no.
Munoz last fought on May 16 and then retired, leaving his gloves in the octagon, and said in a recent blog post for The Players Tribune that he has no intentions of returning.
Check out what he said:
“If I could explain my first 100 days of retirement in one word, I would say: Enjoyable. No (itch to come back). Not at all. I still love the sport and I’m enjoying seeing a lot of my UFC mates in action. … Although I’ll always be a big UFC fan, I’m making good on my word, and I know that May 16 was my last time in the Octagon.”
Munoz went out on a win, defeating Luke Barnett at the UFC’s first event in the Philippines. After the win told the crowd that he was hanging it up and calling it a career. Then, in one of the most memorable scenes in MMA history, Munoz took his gloves off and laid them in the middle of the octagon.
Good for you Munoz!
