Matt Brown vs. Tim Means set for UFC 189 in Las Vegas
A welterweight bout between Matt Brown and Tim Means is the latest addition to July’s UFC 189 fight card in Las Vegas.
The fight was announced during America’s Pregame on Fox Sports 1.
Matt Brown (19-13 MMA) will be looking to snap a two-fight losing skid when he meets Tim Means in Sin City. “The Immortal” has suffered back-to-back decision losses to Robbie Lawler and Johny Hendricks in his most recent octagon appearances. Prior to the setbacks, Brown had compiled an impressive seven-fight win streak in the UFC’s talented welterweight division.
Meanwhile, Tim Means (24-6-1 MMA) will be looking to extend his current win streak to five in a row when he squares off with Brown this July. “The Dirty Bird” was most recently seen in action at last weekend’s UFC on FOX 15 event in New Jersey, where he scored a third-round submission win over George Sullivan. Prior to that, Means scored a first-round TKO victory over Dhiego Lima at February’s UFC 184 event in Los Angeles.
UFC 189 takes place July 11 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following the prelims which air on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
UFC 189 is headlined by a featherweight title fight featuring current champion Jose Aldo taking on top contender Conor McGregor.
