McGregor: ‘I don’t blame these bums for calling me out, I can change your life’
Now that he sits atop the division alongside Jose Aldo, UFC interim Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor has a target on his back. The trash-talking McGregor seems prepared to face any and all challengers the UFC puts in front of him, even at a moment’s notice.
He was originally supposed to face Aldo at UFC 189, but the Brazilian was forced off the card due to a rib injury. McGregor took on the task of fighting Team Alpha Male standout Chad Mendes on short notice and still decimated his opponent. It wasn’t without trouble, though; Mendes found repeated success with takedowns in the opening round.
Mendes took the fight in less than three week’s notice and was paid handsomely for it: $500,000. McGregor realizes that he is a big-money fighter and isn’t shocked when he hears fighters calling him out:
I don't blame all these bums. I'd call me out too. Chad went from 48/48 into half a rock flat. Pre PPV. I can change your bum life. Line up.
