Miocic Broke Major Record During Fight Against Hunt
Stipe Miocic walked into the octagon on Saturday evening and sent a message to the rest of the heavyweight division: Stipe Miocic ain’t nothing to mess with.
Mark Hunt proved to be one of the toughest fighters in the company by pushing through pain and punishment for four and a half rounds. Hunt was able to sneak in some slick shots throughout the fight, but the majority of the bout saw Miocic lay a beating on Hunt.
Miocic ended up landing a total of 361 strikes, breaking the record of total strikes landed in a bout previously held by Chael Sonnen when he fought Anderson Silva. UFC President Dana White broke the news on his Twitter:
Stipe broke the record tonight for total strikes landed with 361. Chael had 320 vs Anderson Silva.
