UFC featherweight might not be fighting champion Jose Aldo at UFC 189, but he’s still fighting and if he fights, the Irish will come. That’s what he said at lest.

McGregor, during the UFC 189 media conference call, talked about just how many of his countrymen would be entering the arena in two weeks.

“The number, I believe, was 2,400 to 2,500 from Ireland in particular. But that doesn’t factor the Irish that are living in America and the Irish that are coming in from all other areas of the globe.

“But I believe 2,500 specifically from the island of Ireland.”

“It’s the McGregor show. As long as I’m on the show, they will show up. I look forward to putting on a show for my countrymen.”

That’s a substantial crowd of Irishmen for the Notorious one to fight in front of. Do you think the Brazilians will be cheering for Chad Mendes?
