White: ‘You Can Blame Velasquez’s Injuries on Stone-Age AKA’
“Some of the camps are still in the stone ages and need to be brought up to date. AKA is one of those places. You’ve got Cain Velasquez, our heavyweight champion, who’s always hurt. Those guys go to war every day. He’s training for a fight and he’s going to war with Daniel Cormier every day. That’s not how it’s done. Not anymore. We need to educate a lot more. Dana White is not happy about his star UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez being sidelined due to injury since 2013. White puts the blame on Velasquez’s approach to training which takes place at American Kickboxing Academy, or AKA. Velasquez trains with Luke Rockhold and Daniel Cormier and neither of those men haven’t pulled out of a fight in quite a while. However, Khabib Nurmagomedov trains with AKA and he is just coming back from an injury.
What do you think? Does AKA train too hard?
