Nelson: ‘This Is The Scariest Time To Fight Barnett’
On Saturday night in Japan, UFC heavyweights Roy Nelson and Josh Barnett will square off in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Japan.
For Nelson this is a somewhat of a must win, in the sense of staying relative in the division. He’s lost two straight, to Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt, and is only 1-4 in his last five fights. Barnett is also coming off of a loss, to Travis Browne.
Nelson talked to MMAJunkie ahead of his fight with Barnett and said that right now is probably the scariest time to fight someone like him, because of that loss to Browne.

“Usually after a guy like Josh, who’s been at the top of the game, for such a long time — it’s probably the scariest time to fight a guy. He’s coming off a loss. When you’re fighting a guy who’s coming off a win, they’re like ‘I got another win.’ They’re not worried about ‘Oh, am I going to lose or win?’ A guy coming off of a loss is actually more dangerous versus a guy coming off a win.”
