NSAC Summons Nick Diaz, Hector Lombard — Anderson Silva Requests Extension
The Nevada State Athletic Commission will require the presence of both Nick Diaz and Hector Lombard next week in Vegas.
The two UFC fighters have been summoned by the commission, to answer to rule violations for drug use.
Diaz, who lost a unanimous decision to Anderson Silva in his last UFC outing, popped hot for marijuana in his post fight test. It’s his third violation in the state of Nevada for the drug.
Lombard won his last contest against Josh Burkman, he then tested positive for steroids. Prior to his infraction Lombard was scheduled for a number one contender showdown against Rory MacDonald. The UFC pulled him from that bout and gave MacDonald the title shot.
The two me will likely serve suspensions and be fined. In the case of Lombard, his victory over Burkman will be overturned to a no-contest.
Anderson Silva, who should also be on the docket, has requested an extension and will not appear.
The NSAC meeting takes place on March 23.
