Official In Charge Of Ranking UFC Fighters Shames Woodley In Gross Public Rant

The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s ranking system is one of the most confusing of its kind in professional sports. The rankings are generated by a voting panel of media members who are asked to vote on who they feel are the top fifteen fighters within their divisions.

Third ranked Tyron Woodley was expected to clash with top-ranked Johny “Big Rig” Hendricks in the co main-event of “UFC 192”, but Hendricks was forced out of the bout due to weight cutting issues. Woodley’s fight was ultimately scrapped and despite making weight, he did not step foot in the octagon in Houston, Texas.

UFC President Dana White has a history of looking down on fighters who missed weight and it is likely Woodley will be next in line for a title shot instead of fighting Hendricks for the right. A certain media member didn’t like the sound of this, however, and states he refused to rank Woodley in a position where he could get a shot at gold.

The individual who is taunting Woodley is Justin Mayer of Armed Forced Network. The Washington based writer stated he refused to give Woodley the bump solely because Hendricks missed weight. While this is not a controversial statement, he went on to question Woodley’s in-octagon skills informing the former Strikeforce fighter he would lose to Rory MacDonald, Matt Brown, and Carlos Condit. Did he cross the line by questioning Woodley’s skills as an official ranker of the UFC, or is it professional for him to do that?
