Oh Dear God!––Damian Maia’s Staph Infection Looks Horrible (NSFW)

UFC welterweight and submission ace Damian Maia will be sidelined with a nasty staph infection on his thigh.

The news was reported on Wednesday’s episode of UFC Tonight. Maia will be out indefinitely with a severe staph infection and there is no timetable for his return.

Staph isn’t an uncommon thing among grapplers and fighters but Maia seems to get it pretty frequently. Back in 2014 he had to pull out of fight due to a case of staph, which eventually led to a bone infection.

Here’s a picture of the infection and we have to warn you, it’s pretty gross.
