Pettis Not Scared Of Diaz Camp, But Promises No Brawls On TUF 20

By BJPENN.COM News - June 30, 2014

With an upcoming stint as TUF 20 coach opposite Gilbert Melendez, the UFC’s lightweight champ will have to endure more than just coaching a few fighters in the house.

Anthony Pettis will be confronted, on likely, a daily basis, by MMA’s most confrontational group, Team Cesar Gracie.

In a brand new interview with MMAMania.com’s, Jesse Holland, Pettis discussed the threat of a real life drama unfolding in front of TUF camera’s and more:

“I grew up in a bad neighborhood, so I’m not too worried about [the Diaz Brothers]. I’m not afraid of their team at all, and I’ll have my team (Roufusport) there with me, including my brother and all my coaches. We’re starting my fight camp there as well, so I’m sure it will be interesting TV.”

The UFC’s lightweight champion then explained why fans won’t be seeing any brawls on the show between the two camps.

“Kids are looking up to me because I’m the first guy out of Milwaukee to make it in the UFC. I’ve got kids looking up to me, a UFC title to represent, and now a company like Reebok behind me. I have a legacy to protect, not just mine, but for the kids who look up to me.”

Antony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez are expected to headline the UFC’s year end pay-per-view following the completion of their season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’.
