Quinton Jackson: They don’t call me “Rampage” for my knockout power…

By BJPENN.COM News - September 21, 2015

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is one of the most experienced fighters in the octagon today and lives up to his nickname. The PRIDE, Bellator, and UFC veteran has brought an unmatched level of ferocity with him everywhere he went and has supplied highlight reel knockouts for almost fourteen years.

While “Rampage” was knocking fighters out for years, he wasn’t really famous for his unique knockouts until he sent Ricardo Arona crashing to the canvas with a high-impact slam. Arona thought he had Jackson locked away in a triangle, but “Rampage” used his brute strength to pick him up and proceeded to slam him on the canvas. In typical Jackson fashion, he followed up with a couple shots for good measure.

Jackson brought his “Rampage” with him to the octagon and showed the world what he was capable of when he knocked Chuck Liddell out with a brutal combination at UFC 71. Jackson captured gold in the fight and proceeded to defend it just once before losing it to Forrest Griffin one fight later. From that point on, Jackson could never recapture the magic he had at UFC 71; He eventually left UFC to pick up three wins in Bellator before making his return to the octagon at UFC 186.

Now, Jackson is hoping to unleash his inner monster on “Shogun” Rua when he recovers from injury. “Rampage” recently took to Instagram to share a story behind his nickname and reveal why his friends called him that at such a young age…

Yep.. Where did ya think the name came from. My cousin named me when I was 8 from my fav video game
