Rafael Dos Anjos: ‘Bobby Green Complained When We Sparred’
UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is still answering questions about Bobby Green’s accusations.
Green went on BJPENN.COM a while back and talked about training with the champ. Green said something seemed funny about Dos Anjos’ improved skills, comparing him to Barry Bonds.
Dos Anjos recently talked to MMAJunkie about those accusations and had this to say about Green.
“I’m not his friend. I met him one time. He showed up late to training at Reign Training Center, Mark Munoz’s gym. He asked me to do a round of sparring; I said, ‘OK, let’s do it.’ He said, ‘Nice you meet you,’ and blah blah blah. He was so nice that day. But when I sparred him, I kicked him, and he complained about the kicks; ‘Rafael, Rafael no kicks.’ So we just sparred boxing and takedowns. But I don’t know why he said that. In Brazil, we say if your star doesn’t shine, don’t try to take somebody else’s.”
