REPORT: Rousey Outdraws McGregor And Entire WWE In PPVs
Hold the phone, Ronda Rousey might have just beat the one and only Conor McGregor as well as the entire WWE.
Rousey is simply on fire right now. She is not only arguably the biggest draw of the UFC/MMA, but she’s also conquering other markets, like movies and publishing.
She has a New York Times Bestselling book, she’s in big movies and will star and produce her own movie, based on her book. She is destroying everything she sets her sights on.
According to Dave Meltzer, all that came together for massive PPV numbers. PPV guru, Meltzer, released his Wrestling Observer Newsletter and said this about the PPV buy numbers.
“At present time it is too early, especially on a show like this, to get accurate PPV numbers. What we do know is that based on early numbers, it looks to be ahead of UFC 189, which had Conor McGregor (which is currently looking at being in the 800,000 to 850,000), a record amount of promotion, and a strong undercard. But that show was expected to do big numbers and this was not expected to do anywhere close to that.”
Meltzer also mentioned that the numbers are still coming in, but in his estimations will not only beat UFC 189, but every WWE Wrestlemania, with the exception of The Rock vs. Steve Austin. If this turns out to be the case, what can her haters say? She’s officially a mega-superstar!!
