Report: UFC cancels March PPV in Rio De Janeiro
Earlier today during the UFC London: Silva vs. Bisping media conference call, former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva revealed that the UFC has cancelled their March 5th PPV in Rio De Janeiro.
‘The Spider’ explained:
“(The plan) was to have me fighting in Brazil against I don’t know who,” Silva said, “but with this situation going on in Brazil, economically and everything, the UFC decided to abort this event for now.”
In addition to Silva’s testimony, MMA Fighting confirmed the news with sources close to the promotion.
This would mark the 3rd time in the history of the UFC that a pay-per view event has been cancelled. The first was UFC 151 back in 2012, and the second was UFC 176 last year.
