RESOLUTIONS: Jacare, Rockhold, title shot

Lyoto Machida

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida is fresh off a first-round TKO victory over C.B. Dollaway which he earned at this past weekends UFC Fight Night 58 event in Brazil.

The victory moved “The Dragon” back in to the win column, as he had previously been defeated by current UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman in a five-round “fight of the year” war this past July.

During his appearance on FOX Sports Live, Machida discussed what he needs to do in order to earn another crack at middleweight gold:

“Maybe one more fight, or two more fights. Hopefully I will fight for the belt again,” stated Machida. “I’m not thinking about that now. I’m just thinking about my next fight. Little by little.”

“The Dragon” went on to say that he would like a top five opponent next:

“Maybe Jacare (Ronaldo Souza). Maybe Luke Rockhold. There are a lot of guys in my line. I can fight anyone. I can fight anybody.”

Regardless of who he fights next, the 36-year-old just wants to remain as active as possible:

“I want to fight more. I want to be fighting more times a year,” said Machida. “I’d like to have three or four fights. Every year.”
