Rizin officials searching for new opponent for Emelianenko
Recently it was announced that Fedor Emelianenko would be making his return to MMA on New Year’s Eve under the Rizin Fighting Federation banner.
There was much speculation as to who Emelianenko would be fighting in his highly anticipated return to MMA. When news broke that Jaideep Singh, who was just 1-0 in professional MMA at the time of the announcement, would be Emelianenko’s opponent there was an uproar. Singh is 40-10 in his professional kickboxing career, and is now 2-0 in his professional MMA career after wining his second bout via TKO earlier this month.
Now, Rizin Fighting Federation officials are reportedly unimpressed with Singh’s performance, and are searching for a new opponent for Emelianenko according to MMAFighting.
Rizin officials reportedly felt Singh looked out of shape in his win earlier this month, and as a result would be hard to hype for a fight against Emelianenko.
Maybe they should call this UFC veteran who wants the fight…
