Rousey ‘Honored’ To Be In UFC 168 Co-Main Slot Following Removal From Main Event
“I’m super stoked about being on the same card as Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman. It’ll alleviate some of the promotional stress and pressure because there’ll be more of us working to promote this big card. Their fight may very well be the fight of the year, maybe even in the history of the company, and I think it’s an honor to be a part of that.”
The UFC’s year-end show was originally slated to be headlined by a title fight between Ronda Rousey and Meisha Tate.
That all changed when Anderson Silva lost his crown at UFC 162 to Chris Weidman and wanted his rematch before year’s end.
As a result, Weidman vs. Silva is set for the UFC 168 main event and female bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, was bumped down to the co-main event. However, as she tells it to USA Today, she is honored to be featured on the same card as Silva and Weidman.
