Here’s a feel-good story from the MMA world.

UF champion Ronda Rousey is currently traveling on her book tour and recently got the chance to reconnect with a familiar face in Kansas City.

Claire Tietgan is a young girl who has struggled with being bullied at school, to the point where she wrote about no longer living in notes found by her parents. Here’s an excerpt from a story written by Laura McCallister of KCTV 5 news.

Claire’s path to meeting Rousey wasn’t easy. Her family realized she was being bullied when they found notes written inside her closet that revealed she was being bullied so bad she wanted to die.

Her parents encouraged her to get active to overcome social pressures, so she set her sights on becoming a fighter like Rousey.

“She’s been bullied too. And she had struggles at a young age and she had speaking problems like I did,” Claire said. “I picture myself doing what she’s doing right now.”

This was the second time the young girl was able to meet the champ and hopes she will be in Brazil when Rousey takes on Bethe Correia.
