Rousey Lands Star Role In ‘Mile 22’ Action Movie
Following Ronda Rousey’s 14 seconds armlock win over Cat Zingano, Rousey announced that she would take some time off before her next fight in order to film a movie.
We now have more details regarding the film, which we now know is called ‘Mile 22’. Filming for the movie is set to begin in mid-May, and will also star Iko Uwais, who is rumored to have had a role in the upcoming Star Wars movie.
Peter Berg, who directed ‘Friday Night Lights’, and is also backing ‘Mile 22’, spoke to Variety, who broke the news, to discuss the Rousey-Uwais duo for ‘Mile 22’.
“I am a huge fan of what Gareth (Evans) and Iko did on both ‘Raid’ films and I’m very excited at the possibility of working with Ronda and Iko to create a film in the spirit of this new wave of combat cinema emerging from Indonesia. Ronda and Iko will be a very unique and powerful team.”
