Silva: “I thought I was going to be paralyzed”
Anderson Silva found himself in a bit of a scare earlier this month when the former middleweight kingpin was rushed to the hospital after having back pain, and then reportedly being unable to feel his legs.
Silva spoke to Veja Rio, in an article which was translated by MMAFighting, to discuss the back pain, and why he feared he had become paralyzed.
“I couldn’t believe when I felt that back pain. I thought I was going to be paralyzed.”
“I couldn’t move or feel my legs and feet. I was scared. I had never experienced anything like that before.”
Silva returns to the UFC on January 31st against Nick Diaz at UFC 183.
