“Stitch” speaks out and has a message for his fans
As expected, cutman extraordinaire Jacob “Stitch” Duran has found life outside of the UFC since being released from the promotion in July. “Stitch” took it upon himself to speak up for the men and women who patch up UFC’s fighters by pointing out that he has lost all of his sponsors since the Reebok deal started.
UFC did not like that “Stitch” had to say and punished him in the form of a release of his duties. It didn’t take long for “Stitch” to appear at a World Series of Fighting event and now, he has a message for his fans who supported him along the way:
I want to thank the 1000s of fans, media, trainers and fighters for your strong support after I was released by the UFC. Love my new role!
— Jacob Stitch Duran (@StitchDuran) August 9, 2015
How do you think both parties handled the situation? Should UFC have fired “Stitch”? Could “Stitch” have taken a different approach to speaking out? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
