“Thug” Rose Gets Show and Win Money Despite Fight Cancelation
Rose Namajunas’ return to the octagon was cut short after her opponent was forced to pull out of their fight at “UFC 187”. Nina Ansaroff came in overweight on Friday evening by five pounds and revealed she came down with the flew and ultimately bowed out of her fight with Rose.
Despite never stepping foot in the octagon, Namajunas still earned her show and win money on Saturday evening, UFC officials told MMAJunkie.
Namajunas was looking forward to getting back to her winning ways after suffering consecutive losses. Rose fell short of winning gold at the culmination of the twentieth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” when Carla Esparza defeated her for the vacant UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship.
There is no word on if Namajunas and Ansaroff’s bout will be rescheduled or if they will be fighting someone else in their next fight. Stay tuned to BJPENN.COM for more on this story as it develops!
