“Thug” Rose Namajunas Reflects on Fight Cancelation at UFC 187
Rose Namajunas’ was set to finally return to the octagon at UFC 187 in a strawweight bout with Nina Ansaroff, but Ansaroff fell ill with the flu and was forced to pull out of the bout.
“Right now, I don’t know what I’m feeling; I’m really confused about the whole thing,” Namajunas told MMAJunkie. “This has never happened to me. I’ve had people pull out of amateur fights… but this is just another level. You don’t think that at this stage, it would happen, but it still does. I’m just learning how to deal with it.”
Namajunas was looking to getting back to her winning ways this past Saturday after suffering consecutive losses in her previous two fights. She fell short of winning gold against Carla Esparza when they met for the vacant strawweight championship.
There is no word on if Namajunas and Ansaroff’s bout will be rescheduled or if they will be fighting someone else in their next fight. Stay tuned to BJPENN.COM for more on this story as it develops!
