‘Title Shot Is Mine, I Don’t Know What the Hell They’re Waiting For’
The UFC Middleweight division is as stacked as it can get and there seems to be a log jam at the top when it comes to finding a challenger for the title. Luke Rockhold believes he is next in line, however, and that there is no debate.
“I don’t know what the hell they’re doing, but it’s guaranteed that that’s my shot,” Rockhold told the media during a scrum. “It’s happening. There’ll be a date locked down soon. We’re fighting. I talked to Dana, and we got some things coming.”
Luke Rockhold is coming off a dominant victory against perennial contender Lyoto Machida. Rockhold was able to do what Weidman couldn’t when he defended his championship against “The Dragon”: knock him out.
Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza is also campaigning for a shot at the gold. Jacare fought on the same card as Rockhold and Machida, and put on a performance just as impressive as Rockhold. However, Jacare’s caliber of opponent was lowered when Yoel Romero pulled out of their fight days before it took place. Jacare submitted Camozzi in impressive fashion, but Camozzi had just signed with the company and is unranked.
