‘TUF Nations Finale’ Results: Bocek Edges De La Torre in Split Decision Win

By bjpenndotcom - April 16, 2014

Mark Bocek was pushing a high-octane pace from the get-go and it almost looked like Mike De La Torre was going to be outclassed throughout the entire fight. However, De La Torre started to find his range and landed some impressive shots on Bocek himself. The back-and-forth exchanges between the two made for an exciting fight.

Bocek continued his pace in round two, but started to look dejected when De La Torre walked through his punches and blocked his takedown attempts. Bocek’s shots would be blocked and De La Torre would eventually threaten a throw, which caused Bocek to separate and reset in the middle of the octagon.

The first round was clearly Bocek’s but De La Torre started to gain some momentum in the second. De La Torre’s left hand landed multiple times throughout the round and Bocek was doing little to move away from it. Both corners informed their fighters to treat the fight as if it was one round a piece, and they fought hard for the win in round three.

It was a hard fought round where both man had the advantage. De La Torre ended the round on a low note as Bocek was riding his back looking to lock in a rear naked choke. De La Torre was saved by the horn and it went to the judges’ decision.
