UFC 191 Results: Ross Pearson Wins An Extremely Close Split Decision Over Paul Felder

In the featured fight on FS1 lightweights Paul Felder and Ross Pearson faced off.

They exchanged briefly, then Pearson got the clinch and pushed Felder to the cage. Felder reversed and put Ross on the cage. They worked on the cage for a while, both having their time pushing the other on the cage.

Finally they broke away and went back to striking. Felder threw a head kick but Ross caught it and took Felder to the ground. Felder managed to get to his feet and push Ross on the cage again. He went down and tried to get a takedown, but was unable to. They broke away and Felder went for a spinning move, but ended up falling and Ross tried to throw down a large punch before the round ended.

In the second we saw a stand up clinic. The fight never went to the ground and they didn’t clinch.

However, there really wasn’t much landed by either fighter. Mostly just leg kicks and Felder attempted a few leaping knees, but they looked to be blocked. Both fighters are so technical.

The pace looked to be faster at the start of the third, with both fighters coming out looking to land more. Ross managed to connect with a few good jabs. They both looked to throw more, but still it was rare that either of them really connected with anything significant. With about a minute left Ross started landing a little bit more. Felder threw a spinning kick that was blocked. They let loose with 10 seconds left, with Felder throwing a kick and a flying knee that miss. Tough fight to score for sure.

RESULT: Pearson wins via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28)
