UFC denies banning GSP from UFC 167 post-fight press conference
Former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St. Pierre recently accused the UFC of banning him from attending the UFC 167 post-fight press conference after his controversial win over Johny Hendricks.
In addition, St. Pierre blamed the UFC’s new Reebok deal for potentially being part of the reason he has yet to return to competition.
According to a UFC official, who spoke to MMAFighting, GSP was not banned from the post-fight press conference.
“A UFC official told MMA Fighting that UFC did not prevent St. Pierre from attending the UFC 167 post-fight press conference, but rather the organization was informed that doctors had advised St. Pierre and UFC officials that he be taken to the hospital immediately for precautionary purposes. The official said that St. Pierre declined to be transported immediately, instead preferring to attend the press conference.”
