UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos flexes on Monster Energy

It could be an attempt to try and pick up the partner energy drink of the UFC as a sponsor, or a simple way to show them who is boss. UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos took it Monster Energy by directing a tweet to the company and the company’s “Combat Sports Manager” Hans Molenkamp.

Dos Anjos tweeted:

Hello @MonsterEnergy my last two opponents was sponsored by you guys and I beat them and I hope you are a believer now @HansMolenkamp

Perhaps dos Anjos is looking for some respect and love and from the energy drink company being the lightweight champion. Dos Anjos makes a point having dethroned Anthony Pettis as lightweight champion and making quick work of Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, who both have a sponsorship deal with the energy drink giant. Monster Energy also sponsors light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, featherweight champion Conor McGregor and former women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
