UFC Lightweight T.J. Grant Eyeing October Return To Action
We’re still a long way off from October, but that’s when the UFC’s top lightweight contender and Canadian resident, T.J. Grant, is looking to get back inside the Octagon.
Grant earned his shot at the UFC’s lightweight title back when Benson Henderson was champ. But due to injury, the Canadian born fighter hasn’t seen action since May of last year, when he beat down former two-time title challenger, Gray Maynard, to win in the first via TKO.
T.J.’s return date coincides perfectly with the UFC’s planned trip to Halifax in Nova Scotia, on October 4.
The top contender discussed his intentions at today’s press-conference:
“It’s going to be an honor to have them come [to Halifax]. Hopefully I’m a part of it. I’m still in the prime of my career. I’m not a dinosaur. I got injured, but it’s all in the past now, I’m just looking to build off last year, recovering and moving on to the next step. I want to get back in there and get at that title.”
